OPPRTUNITY
To design an E-bike for urban commute along with the accessories and interface unit under a brand Nine09 for the Indian market
RESEARCH
The bicycle has gone from being an old-fashioned recreational product to zero polluting means of transport & a compact, ultra-light personal mobility tool. This is how electrical bicycles are used as a pillar that could support individual public transport for compact spaces in
large cities worldwide.

The electric bicycle as a new form of private transport has led to a new approach to mobility, especially in cities, both for countries with large populations and for countries that are concerned about the environment.

INSIGHTS
Four users were considered for the user study. They were all employed in Gujrat, India. They want to use bicycle for their office commute and want to make less impact on environment.
28% of e-bike riders bought their e-bikes as a substitute for their car
20% of residents who don’t ride a bicycle say that they don’t do it because they are too old or unfit to do so
38% of people ride a bike to work, school or university- found that 26% of people said that their main reason for cycling was because it is a faster way of commute
Journey on an electric bicycle was 21% faster. The median speed was 23.1 km/hr for E-bike and 18.4 km/hr for a traditional bicycle
Some of the most common reasons for embracing e-bikes are the health and environmental benefits. Reduction in costs and avoidance of traffic jams
NEED A EASY TRANSPORT
Using the insights gathered through affinity mapping our interviews and observations, we gained further insights for what does they want in the design which suits their daily commuting lifestyle, what are their requirements in the product and further improvements according to their individual experiences.
ERGONOMICS
HUMAN COMFORT
In depth organs movement study had been done to understand the user pain and comfort. Static and dynamic anthropometry study helped to make product more convenient from point of view of ussers.
